What is the TOEFL?
The full name of TOEFL is Test of English as a Foreign Language (English proficiency Test for TOEFL), founded by Stanford University in 1964 and independently run by American Educational Test Service. It has been running for nearly 60 years to test the English proficiency of non-English speaking students.
TOEFL test mode: iBT
TOEFL has three test modes, including Internet-Based Test (iBT), which allows candidates to connect to the service agency through the network for online testing. Since its launch in 2005, it has gradually replaced the written test of Paper-Based Test (PBT) and Computer-Based Test (CBT).
TOEFL exam content
The TOEFL is divided into four papers, including reading, listening, speaking and writing. The test time takes place is about 2 to 2.5 hours.

Candidates' ability to understand academic articles in English is mainly assessed. The reading materials generally include two articles of about 700 words, each with 10 questions and about 35 minutes to complete. It mainly examines candidates' ability to understand English conversation, which usually includes lecture and dialogue. Each section is about 3 to 5 minutes long, each with 6 questions; the dialogue section has 2 paragraphs, each with 5 questions, about 36 minutes. Candidates should answer questions about the lecture and dialogue.
The mouth said
The main assessment of candidates' English speaking ability, generally including 1 question independent speech and 3 questions comprehensive speech, the former requires candidates to express their views and ideas; the latter requires a combination of reading and listening ability for dialogue. Candidates will have about 15 to 30 seconds to prepare before each speech, about 45 to 60 seconds to speak, and about 16 minutes to complete.

The English writing ability, generally includes comprehensive writing and academic discussion writing. The former assessment time is about 20 minutes, and candidates are required to write a short passage and listen to the short lecture; the latter assessment time is about 10 minutes, required to state and support a point in the online class discussion, completion time is about 29 minutes.
Explanation of the TOFL scores
TOFL paper has 30 points, with a total score of 120, but the scoring methods are different. The advanced level for the reading section is 24 to 30; 18 to 23; 4 to 17; and 0 to 3.22-2 to 30; 17 to 21; 9 to 16 and 0 to 8.
For verbal parts, senior levels are 25 to 30; 20 to 24 for senior; 16 to 19 for junior; 10 to 15 for junior; and 0 to 9 for junior.24 to 30; 17 to 23; 13 to 16; 7 to 12; and 0 to 6.
TOEFL registration method
Candidates can apply for TOEFL through one of the following channels. The registration deadline is usually 7 days before the test:
1. Register online with a credit card
Registration is available through the American Educational Test Service. Information on the date and location of the test has been published in the system and updated from time to time. Candidates who use the system for the first time must first register as users, and log in to the personal area with the personal user number and password. The deadline for overdue registration is 2 days before the exam, and you must log in to the system to print the registration confirmation form before the test.
2. Register by credit card by phone
You can contact the Prometric Regional Registration Centre (RRC). The deadline for overdue registration is 5 pm on the 1 day before the exam.
3. Post registration
The online TOEFL test registration form can be completed and mailed to the regional registration center. The registration form is attached to the online TOEFL test information manual and can be downloaded from the TOEFL website. Candidates should submit to the regional registration center 4 weeks before the earliest test date.
